The patient was being worked up for a cardiac event diagnosis. Work out- exercise, or resolution. I like to work out on the weekends. Becky and I worked out our differences. |@Ericarlo Work out could mean figure out when used as to understand. I just can’t work out this math problem. Work up doesn’t fit for your last sentence. That would be work out. Things just didn’t work out for the both of us. In that sense, work out implies resolving in a satisfactory way.
