I was bursting(meaning, I wanted to pee so badly) is that a British expression?(burst)
By A Mystery Man Writer
Description
@luckyall I think most Americans would, but it’s not the MOST common, I guess. It may just be more common there. It could also have started there, and we picked it up. Basically, it’s safe to use with Americans. |Do you know water balloons? If you fill it with too much water, it will burst. If you’re don’t pee, you feel like a water balloon with too much water, you feel like you are “bursting”. I think it’s a common expression. I can only speak for American English though. |@luckyall mm, not really. It’s a different sensation. “I was bursting” is very very casual, but not impolite. There are no polite ways to talk about poo like that. “I’m constipated” may be one, but it’s more medical. You CANNOT poo, even if you sit down and try. There’s plenty of impolite ways to talk about poo, though.
