Athletic Skort: Hiking in Style
By A Mystery Man Writer
Description
When Ada suggested a skort as part of our July skirt series, I was on on board. I had seen this Target skort shared by several bloggers and wanted to try them. The fabric is moisture wicking so they are actually quite comfortable in the heat and humidity. I planned my outfit for this hike up Stone Mountain with blog pictures in mind and also knowing I was planning to meet Yenni from IdeasValyen that afternoon. Stone Mountain Park is located in Stone Mountain, GA and the hike up this large granite mountain is definitely more fun in the cooler month. Therefore we tried our best to stick to the shade the first part of our walk, made many drinking stops and the boys enjoyed a large icee at the concession stand at the top where the skylift goes. You can see more about the park in this post. I had forgotten how pretty the park and this climb was. I hope we will come back in the fall or winter and truly enjoy it. On this occasion, I knew we would all need a hat so I pulled out my new Cafe du Monde pink cap and chose a graphic tee that had shades of pink. We really got hot climbing Stone Mountain but the skort was good at not showing sweat and the built in shorts helped keep me covered at all times. I tried both the small and the medium and settle on the small as I like the shape of the skirt better. This little backpack from Aldi is about 10 years old and I use it on hikes for carrying water. It holds about 5-6 bootles of water and has a orange water resistant cover you can use when it is raining. It is zipped and attached at the bottom. My Walmart sneakers were comfortable as the path up was not too treachurous. I will be wearing this skort pretty often! We are planning a visit at the zoo and I will probably pair it with a different cap and graphic tee! We didn’t have any quarters for the tower viewers but I had to take a fun touristy picture. There was a nice breeze at the top which was very appreciated and we took a few minutes to admire the views before walking down and having a picnic by the covered bridge. A bientôt! I usually post Monday, Wednesday and Friday but sometimes have a bonus post during the week. You can also follow me on instagram @ I link up with these fabulous blog link ups! With Yenni
